Self Editing Tip

One thing authors can do to self edit is to go through the text and eliminate troublesome words.

Here is a list of words that tend to be overused:

1. down
2. up
3. out
4. then
5. began
6. felt
7. back
8. suddenly
9. could
10. would
11. was
12. that
13. just

Find and replace these weak verbs with action verbs.
