What I'm Reading ~ Melissa de la Cruz

I just finished reading Melissa de la Cruz's young adult vampire series Blue Bloods and Masquerade published by Hyperionteens. They were both easy reads and I finished them in a little over a day each. I must say that Melissa is really adept at cliffhangers.

The first novel starts off easy with lengthy character descriptions that go from eye color to dropping designer names. After midway the pace picks up and gets faster until you reach the end where things are not wrapped up neatly rather you find that you must get your hands on book II to find out more. The beginning of book 2, Masquerade is a rehashing bringing you up to date on who is who and whats going down. The story twists and turns with great surprises.

I really enjoyed the tale and can't wait for the next book in the series.

Melissa has a great page giving advice to young writers:

In conclusion if you love vampire stories (who doesn't), fashion and tales of the uber rich I recommend the books.
